Mithila Foods Funding: Startup Raises ₹1.5 Crore from ajvc to Scale Bihari Cuisine

In a significant development for India’s D2C food sector, the recent Mithila Foods funding round has successfully closed at ₹1.5 crore. The culinary startup, which is bringing Bihar’s heritage cuisine to a national audience, secured the seed funding from ajvc (A Junior VC), led by Aviral Bhatnagar.

Mithila Foods was co-founded in January 2025 by Shubham Sunderka, Ankit Kumar, and Anshu Kumar. This fresh capital will help the company to:

  • Expand its distribution network and strengthen its supply chain.
  • Introduce new product lines inspired by Bihar’s rich culinary traditions.

In under five months of operations, the startup has already achieved an annualized revenue run rate of ₹3 crore, launched over 20 SKUs, and served more than 25,000 customers across 4,000 pin codes.

From a humble warehouse in Dumka to reaching customers nationwide through e-commerce and retail channels, Mithila Foods is proving how regional authenticity can scale into a national brand.

At Startup Veda, we celebrate founders who transform tradition into innovation. The journey of Shubham, Ankit, and Anshu is a powerful example of building scalable, heritage-driven consumer brands.
